Have made some awesome chicken lately, check it out:
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes-new/home-cooking-skills/everyday-crispy-chicken-with-sweet-tomatoes
It is delicious served with garlic bread and a nice green salad. Definitely chop up some new potatoes and sling them in as it is so tasmty like that. My friends (and Mr A) go crazy about this dish and often after the chicken is all gone chunks of garlic bread get dipped into the gorgeous tomato juices flavoured with garlic and basil.
It's nice to have a great white wine to serve with this, ABC (anything but chardonnay) is good here as the oakiness in chardonnay is wrong and I find that a pinot grigio or chablis is more delicate and goes well with the intense flavours of the dish.
We made crispy marshmallow cakes at the weekend with the little squidling (our son) but have been rather lax on the baking lately.
I'm planning a joint birthday party with my friend, who I will call Dolly as she's beautiful like a porcelain doll! Dolly will be 30 this year, me 28. We're both parents now so will be a great chance to let our hair down! Will be discussing party nibbles soon on here, hoping to make some interesting little bits

And We Wanted Equality...
Have been thinking about an old joke:
Compliment her,
cuddle her,
kiss her,
caress her,
love her,
stroke her,
tease her,
comfort her,
protect her,
hug her,
hold her,
spend money on her,
wine & dine her,
buy things for her,
listen to her,
care for her,
stand by her,
support her,
go to the ends of the earth for her...
HOW TO IMPRESS A MAN:
Show up naked.
... with Beer

I'm not so sure this is really true...I know I had to work very hard in the early stages of my relationship with Mr A. Now women are expected to be able to hold down jobs as well as handle all the household jobs a 50s housewife was expected to do. Because of the equality that we as women have fought for, things have in my opinion, gone bonkers. Men, on the other hand are benefiting from this so called equality as now not only do we all have to go out to bloody work and handle our homes, our men are becoming slightly emasculated with us being the driving force behind anything that needs doing in the home. It's fucking ridiculous...
I like having a career but think that things have gotta give.
If we are going to be equals then every married couple needs a cleaner. Or some HELP!!
Anyway, rant over am going to be entertaining my sister in law and family so will be piloting a Jamie Oliver lasagne with roasted butternut squash, let you know how I get on!
